GeoPark Helps Build Safe Learning Environments for its Youngest Neighbors

Villanueva, Casanare – November 26, 2020

Continuing to create value for its neighboring communities, GeoPark has again promoted the improvement of educational infrastructure to benefit its youngest neighbors and has built a perimeter fence for the Nuestra Senora de los Dolores de Manare Educational Institution, located in the village of Santa Helena in Villanueva municipality.

GeoPark believes that the physical conditions of educational establishments play a central role in ensuring the well-being of students and facilitating their learning process. The project in Santa Helena benefits 33 boys and girls and their teachers by providing safer infrastructure.

“At GeoPark we are convinced that education is a fundamental aspect to guarantee the development of our neighboring communities. With this project we are taking a further step towards our goal of promoting quality education, guaranteeing optimal conditions so that our youngest neighbors can learn and develop in safe environments,” GeoPark Neighbor Relations representative Jenny Barbosa said at the project delivery ceremony.

The project furthers the GeoPark goal of contributing to the fulfillment of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as achieving one of the targets in the ‘Together We Build Education’ program of the 2020-2023 Villanueva Development Plan, which consists of adapting and maintaining the municipality’s educational infrastructure.
