GeoPark Partners with the Braian Angola Foundation in Villanueva

Villanueva, Casanare. December 16, 2021 – To continue consolidating safe spaces for children and adolescents, GeoPark has partnered with the Braian Angola Foundation to benefit 100 children and young people in Villanueva municipality, Casanare department.

The partnership’s beneficiaries will receive four months of technical and practical training in basketball and teamwork, as well as psychosocial support throughout their learning cycle. Professionals from the Braian Angola Foundation, which was founded in October 2020 to promote sport in young children and promote good use of their free time, will be responsible for the training process.

GeoPark has placed a lot of faith in sport and recreation for children and adolescents, through the firm conviction that these pillars are a great opportunity to promote social transformation. Through this partnership, the Company aims to guarantee the right to education and recreation of its youngest neighbors, as well as promoting fundamental values of living in peace and harmony such as respect, solidarity, and teamwork.

“We are very happy to combine efforts with the Braian Angola Foundation because its founder is a source of pride and hope for thousands of Casanare people,” GeoPark Neighbor Relations Manager Luisa Vargas said. “We are sure that this project –in addition to making the dreams of a hundred Villanueva children and adolescents come true– will allow us to continue laying the foundations for the real transformation of the territories that neighbor our operation.”

The partnership is an opportunity for GeoPark to continue helping close gaps and contribute to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda through generating learning opportunities for children and adolescents.
