Puerto Asis, Putumayo, October 1, 2021 – As part of our partnership with the Fundación Nacional Batuta, which aims to develop the musical talent of children and adolescents in Puerto Asis, the Foundation’s Center of Symphony Music performed the concert ‘Notas de Alegría’ to dozens of people in the parish of San Francisco de Asis in the capital of Putumayo.
Over 80 children and adolescents showcased their talent playing eight musical pieces, under the guidance of teachers from the Foundation.
At the event, we gave a cello each to two students who have excelled in their learning. “This gift symbolizes our recognition of the effort and dedication that the students and their families have put into this project,” Neighbor Relations leader Maria del Pilar Rodriguez said. “We congratulate the students who received these instruments and all students who make up this partnership. We will continue promoting initiatives that allow us to make dreams of learning music and developing come true for children and adolescents from our neighboring communities”.
The agreement benefits 80 children through teaching symphony string music and promoting the Talentos Batuta program to facilitate access to higher musical education for young people from low-income families who are connected to the System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras.
