As part of our socio-environmental investment strategy to create and share prosperity in the territories we operate in, we have donated a lowbed trailer to Tauramena municipality to increase the local availability of machinery and support tertiary road maintenance.
The donation was coordinated with the Tauramena Mayor’s Office and is part of our ‘Works at the service of the community’ investments that recognize infrastructure as an essential component of community well-being and people’s exercise of their rights. Within this approach, we promote projects that meet priorities defined jointly with local authorities and neighboring communities and which aim to leave a real and lasting legacy in territories.
“This machinery reinforces our pool of equipment and allows us to meet our communities’ needs quickly and efficiently. We thank GeoPark for working together with Tauramena and supporting our municipality’s development and well-being,” Tauramena mayor Javier Augusto Alvarez said.
Costing over 830 million pesos, the new vehicle optimizes the transport of heavy machinery for use in rural road maintenance, improving the local population’s mobility, connectivity and access to services and markets.
“This donation shows the effectiveness of the partnerships we make with neighboring authorities and communities. We firmly believe that the trailer will help create better rural roads at the service of the people,” our Neighbor Relations Manager Diego Morales said.
Providing the trailer underscores our commitment to local development and to promoting infrastructure projects that strengthen institutional capacity, boost rural economies and improve the quality of life in our neighboring communities.
